The spirit of it
Be the kind of neighbour you'd want next door. Compete hard, joke around, flex your fits, but don't make anyone feel unsafe or unwelcome. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face in front of a crowd, don't say it here.
Respect people
- No harassment or bullying. Don't target, humiliate, pile on or keep contacting someone who's made it clear they don't want to hear from you.
- No hate. No slurs, insults or content that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, serious illness or age.
- No threats. Not even as a joke: no threats of violence, and no wishing harm on anyone.
- Body types are all welcome. Every Star's build is valid. Don't mock anyone's body, real or in-game.
Keep it right for the city
- No sexual content in posts, names, bios, comments, messages or voice. No sexual solicitation.
- Zero tolerance for anything that sexualises minors. We remove it, close the account and report it to the authorities.
- No graphic violence or gore, and nothing that promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
- No illegal stuff: no selling or promoting drugs, weapons or other illegal goods, and no instructions for crimes.
- No spam: no flooding comments or messages, repetitive posts, or chain messages.
- Words we don't allow are masked automatically in names, captions, comments and messages. Getting around the filter on purpose still breaks these rules.
Safety first
- No promoting self-harm or suicide, and no encouraging eating disorders or dangerous challenges.
- If you or someone you know is in danger, contact your local emergency services right away. In the US you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
- Never meet up with someone you only know from the game without telling a trusted adult or friend, and never send money or gift cards to another player.
Privacy and identity
- Don't share private information, yours or anyone else's: real names, addresses, phone numbers, schools, workplaces, social accounts, photos or passwords.
- Only scan your own face with the face scan, and don't record someone else's voice into a clip without their permission.
- Don't impersonate other players, real people, celebrities, brands or the U STAR team, and don't pretend to be a moderator or staff.
- No scams. Don't promise free Coins, ask for sign-in details, or post links that trick people.
Play it straight
- No cheats, hacks, bots, modified game files or bug exploits.
- No extra accounts to farm likes, follows, votes or rewards. Star Level only counts likes and follows from real, active players anyway.
- No buying, selling or trading accounts, Coins or items for real money.
- Respect other people's work: don't repost someone else's clip as your own, and only use music or material you have the right to use.
Fights
Fights are opt-in and in-game only: a fight starts only when both players agree. Don't spam fight requests, don't follow someone around asking after they've said no, and don't use fights to bully anyone. What happens in a fight stays between Stars: nothing in U STAR is a reason for real-world violence.
Voice and LIVE
- Voice chat follows the same rules as everything else. No screaming, music blasting or noise meant to disrupt people around you.
- When you go LIVE, you're responsible for what you say and show, and for the guest you bring on.
- Don't record or rebroadcast other players' voices outside the game without their permission.
Auditions
- Your tape must be your own performance and follow these guidelines.
- No vote manipulation: don't use extra accounts, trade likes in bulk or pressure people for likes.
- Respect the host's calls at the finale, and keep it classy in the comments, whoever gets cast.
Report, block, mute
- Report a post: on POPit, tap the post's … button → Report post.
- Report or block a player: open their POPit profile and use its menu, or tap them in the city to open their player menu.
- Mute someone's voice just for you from their player menu. Blocking someone means you won't see or hear each other's posts, messages, voice or fight requests.
- A post reported by several different players is hidden automatically until it's reviewed. You can also email support@ustar.world with the player's handle and what happened.
What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it's happened before, we may remove content, change a name or handle, give a warning, limit features (such as posting, voice or LIVE), take away progress gained unfairly, or suspend or close the account. Some things, like content that sexualises minors, credible threats or serious scams, mean the account is closed straight away and may be reported to the authorities. If you think we made a mistake, email support@ustar.world with your Player ID (Settings) and we'll take another look.
