The basics
What is U STAR?
A social life-sim for iPhone. You make your Star, live in a sunny city plaza with other players, work shifts for Coins, shop for looks, post clips on POPit, take on opt-in fights and audition for the spotlight. Your Star Level grows only by playing.
When is it out, and on what?
U STAR is coming to iPhone in October 2026. Join the launch list to get one email when it's on the App Store. The App Store listing will show which iPhones and iOS versions it supports.
Is it free?
Yes, U STAR is free to download and play. You can buy Coins and two optional monthly memberships (U STAR Plus and Ad-free), but you can earn Coins by playing too, and Star Level can't be bought.
How old do I have to be?
16 or older. The game asks before you start.
Do I need to be online?
Yes. U STAR is an online game: the city, POPit, messages and purchases all need a connection.
Your account
How do I sign in?
You don't need to: U STAR signs you in automatically with an anonymous player ID. You'll find your Player ID in your Star Phone → Settings. Include it whenever you contact us so we can find your account.
Can I move my account to a new phone?
Not yet. Your account is tied to the game on the phone you play on, and there's no email or password sign-in, so deleting the game or switching phones can start a new account. If that happens to you, email us with your old Player ID if you have it and we'll see what we can do.
How do I change my name or handle?
In POPit, open your profile (Me) and edit it. Handles must be unique and follow our Community Guidelines.
What is Star Level?
Your Star Level is how far you've come in U STAR. You get XP for working shifts, working out, fights (win or lose), posting on POPit, the likes and followers you earn, showing up each day and events like the Auditions. It can't be bought, and likes and follows only count when they come from players who play too. Levels open up new jobs, fights, going LIVE and audition tapes, and bring titles like Rising Star and Local Celeb.
Purchases and restoring them
I bought Coins but they didn't arrive.
Our server checks every purchase with Apple before adding it, which usually takes a few seconds. Make sure you're online and keep the game open for a moment. If they still don't show up, go to Shop → Restore purchases, then email us your Player ID and the receipt from Apple (from your email or your App Store purchase history).
How do I restore my purchases?
Open your Star Phone → Shop → Restore purchases. This re-checks the purchases on your Apple ID, such as memberships and the starter pack. Coins that were already added to an account stay on that account. If something you paid for is missing after you reinstalled the game or changed phones, email us your Player ID and your Apple receipt.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases go through the App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Coins and items have no cash value and aren't refundable by us except where the law requires.
Do I have to watch ads?
No. The only video ads in U STAR are rewarded ones you choose to watch, for something like extra Coins. The reward arrives once Google confirms the ad was watched to the end, and there's a daily limit.
Memberships and cancelling
What do U STAR Plus and Ad-free include?
U STAR Plus (US $4.99 a month): no ads, a double daily reward, a members-only outfit every month that's yours to keep, and member prices on clothes and hairstyles. Ad-free (US $2.99 a month): no ads in POPit. Prices in other countries are shown in the App Store.
How do I cancel a membership?
Memberships are App Store subscriptions, so you cancel them with Apple:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your name, then Subscriptions.
- Tap U STAR, then Cancel Subscription.
You can also do it from the App Store: tap your profile picture → Subscriptions. You keep the membership until the end of the period you've paid for. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next month.
I deleted the game. Is my membership cancelled?
No. Deleting the game, or your U STAR account, doesn't cancel a membership. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings as shown above.
Reporting and blocking
How do I report a post or a player?
For a POPit post, tap its … button → Report post. For a player, open their POPit profile and use its menu, or tap them in the city to open their player menu. A post reported by several different players is hidden automatically until it's reviewed. For anything serious or urgent, also email us with their handle and what happened.
How do I block or mute someone?
Use Block in their POPit profile menu, in a post's … menu, or in their player menu in the city. Blocking means you won't see or hear each other's posts, messages, voice or fight requests. Mute in the player menu silences their voice just for you.
Someone keeps asking me to fight.
Fights only start if you accept, so you can just ignore or decline. If they keep at it, block them, and report them if it turns into harassment.
Who can message or call me?
Only your friends: messages and calls are between players who've both added each other.
Voice chat
How does voice chat work?
Voice chat is opt-in. Turn it on in your Star Phone → Settings → Voice chat to hear players near you; the closer they are, the louder. Your mic starts muted: tap the mic button to talk. Calls with friends and your own LIVE use your mic too. We don't record voice chat.
The game can't hear me.
Make sure your mic is on (the mic button), then check that U STAR is allowed to use the microphone in your iPhone's Settings → U STAR. If voice is off for everyone for a while, Settings shows it.
Is my voice in my clips?
Only if you turn on Mic on the POPit camera. It's off until you do, and the game asks first. Clips always carry the game's own sound.
Face scan
What does the face scan do?
In the Star creator, Scan my face uses your front camera for a few seconds to set your Star's face and colours, and gives your Star a face picture made from the scan (your brows, skin, lips and facial hair) that other players see. The camera's photos aren't kept. It's optional: you can make your Star by hand instead. Only scan your own face.
How do I remove my face picture?
While you're in the Star creator, tap Remove face picture. After that, email privacy@ustar.world with your Player ID and we'll remove it for you. It's also deleted if you delete your account.
Is my camera on while I play?
No. The camera is used only during a face scan you start, and, where it's available, while you've turned on face tracking (Face) on a phone camera screen. Camera pictures never leave your phone. See our Privacy Policy for details.
POPit
Who can see my POPit posts?
All players. Anyone with a post's link can also watch it on ustar.world. Share pages aren't listed in search engines, and a deleted post stops showing.
How do I delete a post?
Open the post, tap its … button → Delete post. It's removed for everyone, along with its photo or clip.
Deleting your account
How do I delete my account?
Star Phone → Settings → Delete my account → Delete everything. It permanently deletes your Star, Coins, items, Star Level, posts, messages and friends, on your phone and on our servers. You need to be online, and it can't be undone. Memberships keep renewing until you cancel them with Apple. See Delete your account for everything that's removed, and how to ask by email if you can't open the game.
